Khulna Power Company Ltd (KPCL) was established as a private limited company in October 1997. KPCL is the first private company in Bangladesh. In July 2009, the company transformed into a public limited company. KPCL has three units now this time.
The company started its first commercial operation on October 13, 1998, with Unit-1. Unit-1 power generation capacity is 110 MW. The plant consecutively set up Unit-2 and Unit-3. KPCL contributes to the national development of our country.

Khulna Power Company Ltd. Project Details
Khulna Power Company Ltd has a total of 3 units. Unit-I was established on June 22, 2010, with a capacity of 265 MW. The electricity generation capacity of Unit-II is 115 MW under the contract of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB). The agreement was signed on June 23, 2010. KPCL is owned by 99% shares from KPC Unit-II.
Unit-II started its commercial operation on June 1, 2011. Khan Jahan Ali Power Company Ltd (KJAPCL) amalgamed with Khulna Power Company Ltd on July 25, 2010. The new plant started its commercial operations on May 29, 2011, with the name of KPCL Unit-III.

Singapore-based Summit Power International Limited company was first built Khulna Power Company Ltd. The plant has three units. Unit number III is located in Noapara, Jessore. The other mane of unit-3 is KJAPCL. Highly skilled operators maintain the whole of the plant’s operations.
