Do you know what a is a capacitor? Here is all about capacitors. The capacitor is a device of an electrical sector that can store electric charge at a certain level of its capacity. There are many kinds of capacitors. It is also used as a voltage divider. A capacitive voltage divider is made of two types of capacitors.
Many kinds of people or students don’t know how the capacitor works, its circuit diagram, and its uses. It is essential to know. Here the blog will give the whole of information about the capacitive divider.

What Is Capacitor?
A capacitor is an electronic device that can contain an electric charge, and it is made of two conducting plates separated by an insulator or dielectric. It is also called a dielectric capacitor.
A capacitor is made of two types of components. One is conducting plate, and another is an insulator. The conducting plates are conducted with Aluminium, Tantalum, etc. And the insulator is conducted with air, ceramic, paper, mica, etc.
Working Principle Of A Capacitor
A capacitor is used to store charges in an electrical circuit. A capacitance of a conductor is increased when the earthed conductor is brought near it. A capacitor has two plates with equal and opposite charges to maintain a distance. The working principle of a capacitor is straightforward.
The middle of the two capacitors is filled up with the insulating materials or the vacuum. The storage of the charges in the capacitor is called capacitance.
Assume a parallel plate capacitor that is connected with a DC source. One side of the capacitor is connected with the positive load, and the other side is connected with the negative end. It creates an electrical field in the capacitor.
The positive plate of the capacitor collects the positive charges from the DC source, and the negative plate of the capacitor contains the negative charges from the DC source. After a certain time, the positive and the negative plates of the capacitor collect maximum charges on their sides.
This time is called the charging time of the capacitor. When disconnects the DC source from the capacitor, the plates hold a negative and positive charge for a certain time. If it connects to a load, it transfers the charge stored.
Circuit Diagram Of A Capacitor
In a circuit diagram, one side of the capacitor connects with the positive source, and the other side is connected with the negative source. The AC capacitor circuit diagram detail is given below:
Here is the circuit, Q+ connects with the positive source, and the Q- connects with the negative source. The positive charges tend to the positive parts of the capacitor, and the negative ones tend to the capacitor’s negative parts when it connects with the source.
Uses Of Capacitor
The capacitors are used for many working purposes in the electrical sector. Some of the important uses of the capacitor are given below:
- Uses as an energy storage device
- Armature circuit of the motor device
- Used as a starter
- Used as a sensor
- Used for tuning
- Used for timing
- Used for smoothing
- Signal Processing
- Power conditioning
- Coupling and decoupling
- Hazards and safety
The capacitor is a small device, but it has played an important role in the electric sector. It is straightforward to use for its simplicity. It has many purposes to use.
Now this time, many kinds of modern capacitors have been invented. The working efficiency of the capacitor is amazing. It can work restlessly. Sometimes it may damage then it should be replaced.
It is very usefull.
